As you may be aware, the Swiss are renowned for their timing and sticking to the rules.  So the road from La Forclaz to Ferpècle was closed as usual, at the end of November, despite there being no snow.

In a way this was good news for our visitors, Arthur and Michelle.  They had always visited when the snow was deep on the ground and never had the opportunity to walk up to Ferpècle.   So it was that we set off, in near zero temperatures but glorious sunshine, along the empty road…
