Following on from my slight ‘mishap’ yesterday, I returned to the same car park, at almost the same time and set off to do the same walk but, this time, with a memory card in my camera! The only real difference was that my car told me it was -13 degrees C (8.6 F) instead of -11 C (12 F). Though, rather strangely, it felt warmer.

Anyway here are the photos that you (and I) missed yesterday. And, since I mentioned taking a video, I’ve also included three videos. The second and third have 2 or 3 clips stitched together to save you opening several links. If you want to see how far I got this time, I suggest you view video 2 before 3… 😉
(There is a bit of wind noise on the last clip, but it wasn’t very windy at all).

Never let it be said that you don’t get value for money on this site!! 😊

    What a spectacular post! What utterly breathtaking views! I’m so glad you went back the next day. It looks like a tremendously long, arduous hike – how many hours were you out there and how many miles/kilometers is this? I couldn’t help but think of my one summer hiking in Austria when I saw the little Hut. Even if it is not currently in use, I wonder if it’s a sort of safe spot for someone who might get stranded when it’s getting dark! 😳

      I’m glad you enjoyed it. You’ve just reminded me that I should have included a map showing the route. (Ooops!) I’ve just measured it and it was about 6km out and 6km back, so about 7.5 miles in total (and only 320m or just over 1,000ft of ascent). That ‘hut’ is not that small. Check out this post https://alittlebitoutoffocus.com/2020/07/03/ferpecle-valley-walk-to-bricola-val-dherens-switzerland/ which shows 2 pictures of it from the same level – not to mention the valley in summer, with the river flowing strongly. I think the hut is now privately owned, so you wouldn’t be able to shelter there I don’t think.

          You’re very welcome. In the summer you can drive up the road to a parking area (or take a bus a good part of the way) which would make it at least half that distance. My mother-in-law, who’s in her 80’s has been up there several times. 😊

    Mike, so happy you returned to share these spectacular views! But the lost hiking boot! How in the world can one complete a hike like this with just one shoe?!

      Glad you enjoyed it. I dare say that boot has been there since the autumn. When the car park is full further up the road, people park by the side of the road, near where that boot was ‘posted’. I guess it was removed and left by the side of the car.
