Grassington to Kettlewell

After a wonderful stay at the Romany B&B* in Buckden, it was Liam’s turn to partner me on what was the 4th of the 6 stages. (Dave and Tim were allocated to do stage 3). As you will see from the pics below, the weather wasn’t as good as yesterday but, thankfully, it remained dry (as forecast) all day.

Liam and I debated whether to cross the stepping stones in pics 12 and 16, but one of the stones had water pouring over it and looked decidedly slippery. So we opted for the perfectly ‘safe’, swaying with every step, suspension bridge option, despite it turning out to be over 140 years old.

*I’m not in the habit of plugging the places that we stay, not that there’s usually anything wrong with them, but I think somewhere needs to be extra special if I’m going to recommend it. That’s definitely the case with the Romany B&B, as everything was just perfect (imho). It was almost certainly the best B&B we have stayed in the 30+ years that we have been doing these walks. (And, I can assure you, I don’t get sponsored for these posts!)
