Fyne Lochside Walk to Cairndow, Scotland

Jude and I spent last week ‘glamping’ by the shores of Loch Fyne. Our accommodation was bijou, but extremely comfortable. (See pic 1). The weather, however, was not so pleasant. The skies were mainly grey, with intermittent light and, occasionally, heavy showers. Thankfully we were blessed with one blue sky day. (See next post).

From our cabin there was a path all the way along the lochside to the nearest village of Cairndow. So, while Jude logged in to her online Welsh lesson, I took Tomos to see what we could find…

Once again I forgot to take my little point and shoot camera on holiday, 🙄, so all of the pictures below were taken with my increasingly old mobile phone.

I’d like to say I’m filled with envy, Mike, but I’d be lying. Always nice to have a few days away in good company though. Looking forward to the blue one xx

It was certainly good to get away and have a change of scenery. The weather wasn’t great, but it wasn’t that bad either, so we can’t complain. It didn’t stop us getting out and about. 👍😊

Oh, a new Mike post AND WP bothered to tell me this time!
This looks like a great place to vacation. I had to laugh with the comments about vacationing in *Scotland* and surprise! You got typical Scottish weather. 🙂 Also, your old phone is still taking nice photos.
I love the “atmospheric” fog photos, and you have several of them here.

WP working – whatever next!? Definitely what you (or David) would describe as dreich for a lot of the time, but it was still a great holiday. More photos to come of course… (Plus I’m away this weekend, walking with 3 of my mates,so expect even more pics – but this time of the Yorkshire Dales). 👍👍😊

I happen to like dreich, but will deny that when I’m moaning about it. 🙂 You can (and you did) get some fabulous photos under those conditions. Glad you had a great holiday. I always look forward to your “more photos to come.”

Glad you enjoyed the pics. The blue(ish) sky Bute post is now there (in case WP slipped up again) and another (not so damp nor blue sky) post due tomorrow. 👍👍😊

Thanks Jim. I was very pleased when I saw the boat picture when I got back. It’s hard to really ‘see’ the picture on a phone, even in dull weather. I took about 6 others of that and the other boats in the bay, but that one certainly stood out from the rest.

Great to see a post from you again, Mike! 😁 So many beautiful photos, you really captured the atmosphere. And that lone boat is just stunning.

Thank you Anita. It’s going to be like London buses… Nothing for ages then 3 come along at once… (and there should be some more next week! 🤞🤞)
And, yes, I was pleased with that boat picture, though I didn’t know it would turn out that well at the time!

Haha, the London buses line was perfect 🙂 I’m glad there are more posts coming, I always enjoy your photos. And that boat picture really was a gem. That’s the joy of photography — those unexpected shots that turn out beautifully.

Yes, I was very pleasantly surprised by that boat picture, as it was hard to tell from the back of my phone (even that it was centred correctly). I’m now back from my travels so expect some more buses shortly… 👍😊
