Autumn Colours

I’ve been inspired by Bugwoman’s post on Michaelmas Daisies Revisited to go out into the garden and take a few snaps of anything and everything vaguely colourful. My knowledge of flowers is next to nothing, so I’ll let you decide what they all are. Think of it as a quiz! (But there’s no prizes!)

Wow!! What an amazing cavalcade of color and beautiful plants Mike! And they are all from your garden! Fantastic, and you have butterflies too! 🦋

I’m just like you, bad at naming plants, for me it’s enough that they exist and it’s a pleasure to photograph them. But you’ll probably find someone else who knows what you photographed. Although I tend to quickly forget or mix up what it was. My memory isn’t the best these days ☺️

I’m glad you enjoyed the photos Anita. Like you, I just like to see lots of colour around the garden and, thankfully, we’ve inherited a lot of lovely plants, trees and bushes. 👍👍😊

It doesn’t really matter what they are called, does it? They’re all beautiful xx

Many thanks Jo. You’re right, especially as they all have those complicated latin names as well. I’m always amazed how the TV presenters on the gardening shows seem to know everything!
(I’m not sure why but your comment went into my Spam folder initially). I’ll have to check for some others…)

Recognise one or two. You have a lot of blooms there, never fit all them in our little plot! Like that penny farthing pot stand.

Yes, it’s a large garden (too large really!) The bike was just metal with a ‘hint’ of rust, so I decided to give it the ‘Tour de France’ look! Glad you liked it. I’m pretty sure I saw a Red Admiral flitting about the other day as well. 👍👍😊

Thank you Jet. The garden has certainly changed over the past couple of weeks. With noticeably lower temperatures, autumn has certainly arrived! Though it does mean there’s a lot of leaves to sweep up! 😕

Thank you Christy. It’s amazing how quickly the garden changes at this time of year. I’m pretty sure all those flowers have now gone though some did hang on for quite a while. 👍👍😀
