Pemrokeshire Coast Path, Broad Haven to Solva, Pembrokeshire, Wales

Almost exactly 26 years ago, some friends and I did the whole 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in our time-honoured relay format. After looking back at our itinerary, I realised that I had an opportunity to do (at least part of) one of the sections I’d not done, from Broad Haven to Solva.

My faithful companion, Tomos, is now approaching 2 years old and I knew he would be well capable of completing this walk, of about 12 miles. That is, providing he didn’t leap off one of the many precipitous cliff edges along the route. So I kept him on a lead whenever there was even the slimmest chance of him chasing after a bird or whatever.

As you can see, from the photos below, we had some glorious weather and a fabulous time!

I can see why you would’ve enjoying walking that trail and the enjoyment of retelling it. Good temperatures to be walking long distance.

Yes, it was a lovely walk. Tomoswas very good and didn’tstray too far off the path when I let him off the lead. I’d heard stories of dogs (and particularly spaniels) having to be rescued off the cliffs (or worse) so I made sure he was on the lead for the trickiest sections. He’s definitely mellowing as he gets older (now just turned 2) but still full of energy from morning til evening. (As I type it’s nearly 10pm and he’s curled up on the sofa. πŸΆπŸ‘πŸ˜Š
