Although we had a little more snow overnight down to 1800m, (5,900ft), I finally decided to do a walk from home in our valley. Unusually, I didn’t check the forecast before setting off and it was a little chilly with clouds covering many of the mountain tops. But I needn’t have worried as the sun eventually burnt them away, to leave perfectly blue skies all around. 😊

Snowbells! Gentians! Butterflies! And here in London it hasn’t stopped raining for ten days and there’s hail forecast today :-).

Yes, I was slightly surprised to see so many gentians – especially the Trumpet ones (as they are usually a lot higher). But Jude reminded me that we went for a walk around the same sort of area on her birthday (which is tomorrow) last year and we saw a lot more flowers and butterflies: https://alittlebitoutoffocus.com/2020/05/26/alpine-flora-and-butterfly-walk-val-dherens-switzerland/ So everything is well behind here. But the forecast suggests a sudden increase in temperatures on Friday… 🤞🤞

Hi Mike. I always feel a little lucky when the clouds get burned off on the walk 😊 Nice look you have through the small fence, and to the mountain with snow cap – and all the butterflies 🤗
    Great walk!!

Thanks Hanna. I was lucky really as the weather hasn’t been that great recently. Glad you liked the views!

Thank you Donna. The temperature keeps going up and down and the flowers are about 2 – 3 weeks behind over here, so it’s a bit hit and miss with the butterflies at the moment. But I’m hoping for some better/warmer weather next week and to capture some ‘new’ ones. 🤞🤞

Yep – green, brown, white, blue and orange. Though that is the only green one in Switzerland. 😊
