Last weekend, my daughter Sarah and her husband Karl came to stay for a few days. They have done many of the walks in our valley already, but they had never been up to the Cabane de la Tsa. Although closed at this time of the year, the mountain hut sits at 2,607m (8.553ft) and provides a nice circular walk from Arolla.
Great post 😊

Beautiful shots, Mike, I love #12 Autumn Colors. What is the small ‘square’ opening in the center just below the clouds of photo #1 Pigne d’Arolla and ski slopes?

Thanks Donna. I liked that autumn colours photo too. I’m not sure if the camera enhanced it somehow but it certainly was an obvious shot to take. As for that opening, well spotted but I’m not sure what it is. There is a sort of cable car running up to it but it’s not for the public to use. I think it may be related to the hydro system. There are tunnels from Zermatt, Ferpecle and Arolla taking water over to the 7km long Dixence Dam where the electricity is generated. So it must be that as there is no other logical explanation. In our commune (local area) 100% of the electricity is from renewable sources. 😊
