Only yesterday, Judith and I were sitting outside in the hazy sunshine, saying how nice it was to see the garden again. The first green shoots of grass were appearing and the miniature daffodils were pushing their way upwards. In the field below and alongside the track to our chalet, several Spring Meadow Saffron flowers had appeared. But then, overnight, we had another 15cm / 6″ of snow and we awoke to the scenes below. That makes a full 5 months of the white stuff and, I have to say, we can’t wait for Spring to really start!
It makes for stunning photographs for those of us unused to it! So pretty, but I guess a tad boring after 5 months ……..!

Yes, 5 months does get a tad boring – and not good if a person wants to out for a run, even if it is just up the road and back. The temperatures are due to rise to double figures this week though, so hopefully most of it will be gone, at least in our valley, if not on the mountains, very soon. 🤞

Like so many things in life, you need the contrast to truly appreciate the good things! Here’s to spring/summer!

Very true! Btw did you see that there’s a documentary on MAMILs coming on soon? I spotted it amongst the 10 April Fool stories that are actually true on the Beeb website. See this link for more details: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/mar/31/mamil-documentary-men-middle-age-cycling-lycra-health

Lol! I couldn’t actually work out if it was true or not! They say that all the best jokes have a grain of truth in them!

I’m assuming it’s true. But I’ll keep my eye out on what’s on TV. I see a lot of old geezers out on their bikes. Maybe that’s where old runners go when their knees give out…

As beautiful as these snow shots are, I can imagine you’re ready for more green again!

Absolutely! Though if I go down to Sion in the Rhone valley, it’s clear of snow and we have sunshine and 22 degrees forecast this weekend. And the 16 degrees here should shift quite a lot of it. 🙂
