In a brief departure from my Swiss posts…

Each year some friends and I used to do a recognised long distance path in the UK.  Below the six of us are having the obligatory ‘start’ photo at St Bees before heading off to Robin Hood’s Bay.  We normally completed them in a relay, with two separate groups (in this case of 3) and we covered the 180 miles in 5 days.

17 Colin, Pete, Liam, Dave, Tim and me, at the start of Wainwright's Coast to Coast

Glad you enjoyed them! 🙂 Those were the days when we had heart and lungs to go with the legs…!
Sorry for the delay in my reply, but I’ve just got back from my travels. 🙂

We always have a great time doing these events, though we now walk much more often than we run!

Thank you. I see you have a rather nice connection with St Bees. It’s a lovely spot though a shame most people go there to walk away from it! Though surprisingly, you do head west, around the headland before turning east to Ennerdale. I also noted that we have the MCG in common, at least, on our sites. It’s a magnificent arena. I enjoyed Melbourne very much. Happy blogging!

Yes, so I read. Hopefully you will have explored the Lake District while you were there. It’s a beautiful part of Britain.
