The last few days have been spent visiting our families back in the UK.  Firstly to see Jude’s mum and dad, who live near Oswestry, before driving over to Hull to see my dad, sister, brother and his family.  The latter included a trip to see my nephew, Seb, playing in a rugby match. This gave me an opportunity to test out my long-forgotten catching and kicking skills with his brother Gabe. The bright green hire car also created a lot of interest.  Many heads were turned, either in admiration or shocked amazement, but it was easily found in crowded car parks !

This statue hangs above a café called Wednesdays, which of course derives from Woden’s day.

These plants have beautiful flowers, but they run wild in streams and can clog them up. So they are considered a bit of a pest.
