Hello,
My name is Mike and, although I used to live in Switzerland (from October 2005 – Sept 2021), I now live in North Wales. I love to go walking and I’m drawn to taking photographs – lots of photographs… and I like to share the best of these with my friends, family and anyone else who might be interested in following this site.
In terms of subjects, you can expect to see lots of landscape images, close up shots of flowers and butterflies, (if they’ll stay still long enough) as well as my best holiday snaps. 🏖 🏞 🏝
Sept 2021 update:
Early in 2021, while still living in Switzerland, I put together a list of 33 walks in the Val d’Hérens for people to use. They are in 3 categories, graded Easy, Medium and Challenging. Each of the 33 walks has an Overview with a link to a map, a gallery of photos and a detailed Route description. Click on the “Walks in the Val d’Hérens” menu option or here for more details.
If you have any comments or would like any advice, please feel free to contact me by email (see Contact menu option for details) or by commenting on any Blog post.
Happy walking!
Mike

My daughter is planning to come to the area to study a glacial aspect for her BSc dissertation – is it possible to have a “private” e-mail discussion about the ease of study at Arolla and your local glacier.
Thanks

I’ll do my best to make it interesting. Our Scottish trip finishes around mid-May, so expect to see something posted towards the end of May. (I don’t normally take my laptop on holiday, so I’ll have a lot of catching up to do!)

You’re welcome Rudi. You may have noticed that currently I’m working on a series of walks around the Val d’Hérens (under a new Menu option). It’s only taken me nearly 6 years to start this! However, so far, I have 5 of the ‘Easy’ ones finished and hope to finish the rest of the 30 or so in the next few weeks. 😊

Walking in the mountains is very fun, this is one of my daily habits, so I think you are doing the best thing in life
Well our mountains are different from yours, but they are both interesting, keep walking and photographing
