Wychwood Way, Oxfordshire, England (Day 1 of 3)
The Bird in Hand, Whiteoak Green to Chipping Norton.
It’s been so long since I’ve posted anything, I’ve almost forgotten how to do it! Anyway, regular followers will know that my friends and I always organise a multi-day walk around this time of year. Though, this time it was a little different as Dave was on holiday in Australia and Pete is still recovering after having BOTH of his knees partially replaced in January(!) What sort of ‘lame’ excuse is that! 😅
But, Tim, Liam and I couldn’t go without them, in some form or another, so we took along two soft toys in the shape of Dave the Dog and Pete(r) Rabbit. See pics in the gallery below.
You will also notice Liam holding an I-Spy Dogs book in photo 2. Both Tim and I have owned dogs for the past few years and so this was Tim’s attempt to get Liam interested in dogs. And, I have to say, it worked really well as we stopped and chatted to almost every dog walker, asking them what breed their pooch was. UnfortunatelyI am unable to tell you how many I-Spy points we accumulated each day as Liam hasn’t worked that out yet. 🙄
The 36 mile route was broadly triangular and took us along many hedgerow lined paths and across flat, mainly arable, farmland. Parts of the route also coincided with other paths, such as the Oxfordshire Way and the Shakespeare Way.
