A snowy (dog) walk up Jericho Hill, nr Llanfyllin, Powys, Wales

At 293m or 961ft, Jericho Hill is not the highest of ‘mountains’ in the area, but it does give some wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

The hill is alongside what’s becoming one of my regular walks with Tomos. I was hoping to let him off the lead near the summit, but a flock of sheep stood proudly near the top, so I kept him in check. Though he did get to wander unconstrained in one of the empty fields and along the very leafy track to the road on our descent. See pic 9.

All the photos below were taken on my phone, so they’re not the best quality I’m afraid.

Yes, we had a few days of cold weather last week but it’s all being washed away now. Today temperatures have ‘soared’ into double figures (centigrade) – or over 50+ F. 🌧

Yes, it’s arrived a bit earlier than expected. (It would have been nice to have a white Christmas Day – though we still might of course!)

This was a refreshing walk across the Wales countryside with you and Tomos, Mike, thanks. Wonderful to see the snow-covered expanse and big, open skies.

Thank you Jet. The local scenery certainly took on a different look. Not quite Switzerland, but a small reminder! The snow soon disappeared to be replaced by rain and very strong winds these past few days. The British climate always keeps us on our toes!

Marvelous scenery Mike! Lovely photos to rest your eyes on, such magnificent nature. And I guess your four-legged companion, Tomos, enjoyed the outing as much as you did. 😊

Tanks for your comment Anita. It was a lovely walk, though I’m sure Tomos would much rather have been off the lead, so his enjoyment was somewhat restricted. 🐶

Thank you Jane. I’ve not seen any emails from your posts for a while, so have you not been active or has WP lost the trigger? (If so I’ll have to reset it!) Whatever, I wish you and your family a very merry festive season! 🎅👍😊
