Jude and I have been taking online Welsh lessons for the past 2 years and it’s fair to say that Jude is much keener than I am. She’s taken every opportunity to attend refresher courses and the week before last, she attended classroom sessions Pwllheli.

Having completed 2 sections of the Wales Coast Path – from home to Dyffryn Ardudwy, going south, and from Ynys to Criccieth, going north – I decided to take advantage of her journey to Pwllheli and walk back along the path to Criccieth.

As you will see the day was rather dull to start with and the route itself didn’t look to promising, with a long beach and road sections, but, I hope you will agree, it all turned out rather nicely in the end… 😊

I don’t think it was dull to start at all. It’s different (for me) so I am glad you included all of if. It did indeed get better and better. I love the paths and structures.

And what would be the word for “cheers”?

Yes, I guess it ‘sets the scene’, so I’m glad you enjoyed the virtual walk! I presume you mean the Welsh for cheers, in which case it’s normally “iechyd da” meaning good health. (Though Google translate tells me it’s “lloniannau!”, which I’ve never actually heard said).

Oh gosh, good thing I don’t have to say that prior to a drink. I might get thirsty. But I so enjoyed this post. All of it!

Yes, ‘cheers’ is much simpler! 😊

Some nice male and female gatekeepers there, Mike, plus I love the dragon postbox topper 🙂

Yes, the Gatekeepers are in abundance around here, thanks to the proliferation of bramble bushes! There’s a bit of a ‘thing’ going on around here with regard to covering the post boxes. I’m not sure why or when it started. It could be a legacy from the Eisteddfod(au). <– Bit of Welsh plural for you there! 😀

Mike, I thoroughly enjoyed this incredible walk along the Welsh coast. As I always do with your posts, I hunkered down for the adventure and slowly enjoyed each of your photos in a slide show. Every photo tells a story with the colorful houses of Criccieth, the decorated post box, David Lloyd George’s home, the honesty shop and elaborate beer taps. I took in the sights and the wildlife, the coast and coastal scenery, paths, butterflies and flowers. Really like the map and path, too. Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful hike…makes me want to be there.

That’s so nice and very kind of you Jet. It’s great that you can ‘get away’ like that, even if it’s only for a few minutes!
I shall be completing the remaining 5 days of the Dee Way at the end of this month. The finish will be in Hoylake where the Open golf is unfolding as I type! Brian Harman is playing extremely well! 👍👍

I think the whole hike looks like it was really good, even though I’m sitting at home looking at my computer. It is another thing to experience it in real life but you have documented it nicely with your photos. What a lovely post box!! when I see picture 31, I understand better what you mean about it all ending so well. 😁🍺

I’m glad you enjoyed the ‘virtual’ walk Anita. 😀. And, yes, it’s always nice to celebrate (and rehydrate of course) at the end with a beer! 😋
