As mentioned in my post yesterday, we stayed on the island of St Agnes, which is not much more than a mile (1.5km) long and around 0.75 miles (1.2km) wide, though that’s 1.25 miles (2km) if you include Gugh, which is attached via a sand bar at low tide. (See map). However, to walk all around the coastline of both it’s around 5 miles (or 8.5 km). There is a resident population of less than 100 people – mainly involved in tourism, agriculture and the production of the most delicious ice cream (fortunately for us, at Troytown Farm! 😋)

The gallery below is a rather random selection of photos taken over the 12 days that we were there.

What a peaceful scenery, I love it. But how will it change if the weather turns ??
Let’s stay positive as you are staying in a tent 😉

Yes, one day a huge squall came up and we had to hang on to the central pole, just to make sure the tent and we didn’t get blown away! (Our neighbour’s tent was half destroyed!) And we did get a little wet. (Maybe I should sneak in some pictures of Bryher in the mist!!)

My god, what an experience…. I hope you and your neighbours got a new tent (or at least some repair).

Ours was fine (thankfully) but our neighbour’s was ‘half destroyed’ in the sense that many of the guy ropes gave way and half of it collapsed. The groundsheet (at the downhill end) had about 5 to 6cm of water in it! My wife drained it out and re-erected it, so that, when the owners came back, they were blissfully unaware of the destruction – except that we had to explain why everything was so wet!

The weather was a bit mixed, as you will see in part 3… The ice cream was delicious – with so many different flavours too! 😋
