For the past 4 days my good mate Pete and I have been walking around the Wildhorn, staying in mountain huts. After being dropped off by my wife, Jude, at Lac de Sénin, day 1 would take us to the Geltenhutte. As you can see from the images below, the views were classically Swiss, with green meadows, small lakes and waterfalls – all under perfectly blue skies. 😊
As you can see from pics 34 & 35, the inside of the mountain hut isn’t quite as rustic as you might think. After a refreshing beer (or 2), Pete and I tucked into a delicious 3 course meal. The perfect start to a fantastic trip.
As you can see from the watermark, some of these photos are Pete’s.
Beautiful photos.Thanks for sharing.

Great photos! I love all the scenery, but also all the animals like the marmot. The black newt is also really cool

Thanks Dorothea. I’m glad you liked Day 1. We had a bit of a scramble through those trees after the rock fall (in 2017) but otherwise it was an ‘easy’ day. Day 2 was different again and is now there. 🙂

Well, you would be very welcome. BUT, you may want to defer judgement until you have seen Day 4…

*lol* oh gosh, did you need crampons? or was there NO BED or LOO! I can get over the crampons, but no bed or loo would be ‘it’ for me… ‘it’ being the difference between yes and a resounding NO! 🙂 🙂 🙂

No, no crampons required. Some huts have ‘a little’ water (eg for cleaning teeth, but no showers) but they all have toilets (if only a chemical one or a foot lever to move things along a conveyor…) Still interested? If so, I’d still wait until you’ve seen day 4.

Lovely landscape captures, Mike! And what a journey to begin, pretty cool. I giggled at your ‘lovely puddle’ then thought, wow it is lovely, it is shaped like a heart! ❤

I look for anything ‘heart’ when out and about. I also collect rocks shaped like hearts. 🙂

Funny you should mention that. We have a heart-shaped rock too! 😊
