So, while Malcolm went off to do some ‘real mountaineering’, (i.e. conquering snow-capped peaks with crampons, ice-axe and a qualified guide), I offered to take his wife, Helen, on one of my favourite walks in the Val d’Hérens.  The ridge above the ski resort of Thyon 2000 takes you over some smaller peaks to Mont Rouge at 2,491m / 8,173 ft.   On a fine day the views extend in all directions to no less than 52 peaks over 2,000m / 6,562 ft.  Fabulous!

Beautiful images Mike, the wild flowers are so colourful! I love the purple one, and wondered if the white star like flower is ‘Edelweiss’? I can understand why it’s a favourite walk, looks lovely! 👍

Thanks Maxine. 😊 It’s certainly one of my favourite walks, which has some fabulous views. That white flower is indeed edelweiss. You don’t see it in the wild very often so I like to take and post a picture when I see it. Foxes doing well unlike the toothless Tigers. 😦

… We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the Tigers to find their teeth! An amazing coincidence this morning, a lovely fox trotted through our garden, which I hope is a good omen for today’s match… I would be a bit worried if I saw a tiger trotting through though!!!!

It looks like the fox only brought the club bad luck… It’s terrible and shocking news about the helicopter crash. Let’s hope there were no other people on it when it went down.

Oh Mike, it’s such a dreadful shock. Five died in the crash and the City is in shock and deep grief. We watched the match on BT Sport and turned off at the end. We tuned in to Match of the Day later on and couldn’t believe what we heard, just dreadful and so sad. I went down to the Kingpower yesterday and there are so many coming to pay their respects. Vichai was very much loved by everyone and he will be missed so very much.

Yes, compared to some owners he was a saint. Let’s hope his heirs continue to support the Foxes.

Indeed! There was a statement from his son in which he promised to continue the work started by his father. He was amazed and moved by the response from everyone.
