One of my walking books had this walk to the top of the Tete Noire from the Dixence dam.  I’d never been this close up and personal with glaciers before and the 4 storey cabane looked so small!

      Most of the glaciers around here are receding, though if you’ve seen the amount of snow we’ve had over the past week, (i.e. more than twice the normal) you’d wonder why.
      Sorry for the delay in my reply, but I’ve just got back from my travels. :-

        But I think the abnormality of the weather is precisely a sign of the increasing global temperature.

          I’d heard that the sun was about to go through a cooler phase and we should expect colder winters for a while… Time will tell if this is true of course. (In case this turns out to be true – remember, you heard it here first! 🙂 )
