For the past week or so I have been back in the UK, visiting my dad in Hull, my friends in York and my daughter, Sarah, and her boyfriend Karl, in Sheffield. I’m glad to report that my 93 year old dad is now fit and well and back home after another short spell in hospital.
While in York I played golf (though not very well) with my good friends Martin, Ian and Janice, but I have no pictures of that, so let’s move quickly on… The following day I managed to go for a 10.5 mile (17k) run / jog / walk / stop and take some photographs with my mate Pete. It’s a favourite run of his around the Yorkshire Wolds from Millington. The route goes up and down and sometimes along the dry glacial valleys, so it’s a great workout. Though as it was only my second run since my marathon in April, I hope you will understand why I concentrated more on the stop and take photographs part… 🙂
Looks like you got good weather too! Lovely😊

Yes, I was lucky, as I never took any wet weather gear with me to the UK – nor any running shorts (as you might see from the pics!) It’s a lovely part of the country. But the Bishop Wilton Half, which I never ran, is a killer!

You are right to laugh… I checked the forecast on Monday (last week), before I set off and it said it would be warm and dry – that is for all the week I was here… (I’m used to the forecasts being right you see!) But, as it turned out, I played golf and only got a few spots of rain on the 17th; it was completely dry during my ‘run’ with Pete and then we only had a little drizzle early on during this walk, which dried as soon as it stopped. So, all in all, I was pretty lucky. They say the sun shines on the righteous! 🙂

Sorry – I thought this comment was to my most recent post – where you will see the weather was indeed VERY grey…

But, but, but, there’s no trail on those fields! 😃 You did cross some nice countryside, didn’t you!!

Yes, it was a mixture of paths, fields and some tarmac road. (All public rights of way of course). I hope you liked the cute little bunny! (That was where we found him and when we left him he was in the grass at the top of the picture – so, he was off the road).

That bunny is absolutely adorable! You captured a real sweetness about him. And I can tell by his eyes you did the right thing… he looks good and healthy and old enough to be on his own. 😁

Many thanks Jane. Though I had my (1st official comeback) run yesterday, along the riverside here in Evolène. I don’t like to push my luck with regards to injury, so I may go out again on Sunday. 🙂
