Cloudless skies have returned to the Val d’Hérens, so today I took the Postbus up to Arolla and walked (the 16k / 10 miles) back home. There was still quite a lot of snow around on the paths in the Arolla valley, so I decided to use the road, at least initially. Not only was this much easier, but it gave me an opportunity to take pictures of the views from some slightly different angles…

Looks like it was a lovely walk! The squirrels are so cute. I’ve never seen black squirrels before.

  It was a beautiful day for sure, but I’d rather have been walking on the paths and tracks (even though there were only about 6 or 7 vehicles on the road in the 2 hours or so that I was on it). There were 3 squirrels running around, but two ran away while the other tried to ‘hide’ by keeping still. (I’ll send you the 2nd picture and a better picture of one of them, if I can find it).
